Black Voters Matter
"Long term community activist, organizer Carol is Sr State Coordinator for Black Voters Matter in Mississippi. Her work is conducted statewide with organizational partners and allies to promote expanded democracy in the Black community. She manages more than 20 Black Voters Matter Partners across the state. By expanding the capacity of these partners BVM promotes voter education, mobilization, voter registration and active voter participation.

She also promotes African American voter engagement in the state and offers opportunities for utilizing new voter tools. BVM has as a part of its mission to help get all eligible Black Voters to the polls.

Carol was a program officer with Foundation for the Mid-South. She also served as the first Executive Director for the Mississippi Legislative Black Caucus Foundation. She was an Executive Coach with the W. K. Kellogg Foundation’s Mid-South Delta Initiative. Before joining BVM she also served as a city council Campaign Manager and as, Field Director for a regional Public Service Commission candidate.

She has a long history of working for human rights, economic development, and social justice. She believes that when we work together, we win.
